The Gulf Coast Harpers Association is a chapter of the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen (ISFHC). Our chapter is an educational support group sponsoring 3 scholarships to the Houston Summer Harp Festival, A 4th scholarship provides strings, music, help with rental to a deserving student. The association covers the 5th/6th grade prize for the local Milligan Harp competition (see the Milligan Memorial Page), and contributes to the Gulf Coast Cruinniú for studies in Irish music. The Gulf Coast Harpers is also a group of dedicated ensemble players, encouraging each other and the community (both young and old) by fostering ensemble playing in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Beginning 2023 there will be 4 Harp Circles per year held at Emerson Unitarian, a centrally located and welcoming venue.
